Steinwinder named director of Family Birth Center
Southeast Alabama Medical Center (SAMC) is pleased to announce Sheila Steinwinder, RN, MSN, has been named director of the Family Birth Center (FBC) in the Women’s Center.
Sheila has been part of the SAMC team in the FBC for 16 years. For the last 3 years, she has served as clinical nurse manager. Prior to that she was a relief charge nurse and staff nurse.
Sheila received her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Miss, her Associate’s in nursing from the University of Kentucky in Henderson, KY and her Master’s in nursing from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minn. She is certified as a safe sitter instructor, preceptor, neonatal resuscitation program instructor, advanced cardiac life support and basic life support.
A Mississippi Delta native, Sheila has been married to her husband, Joe, for 31 years. They have 4 children, a grandchild and one on the way. Sheila enjoys spending quality time with her family, traveling, reading and entertaining.
