Southeast Health recognized for stroke care

Southeast Health Medical Center, the region’s leader in stroke care, is pleased to receive the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines Target: Stoke Honor Roll Elite Plus Silver Quality Achievement Award and Advanced Therapy, as well as Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll.

The Medical Center, one of three comprehensive stroke centers in the state, remains committed to providing stroke patients with the most appropriate treatment from nationally recognized, research-based guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence.

“This award acknowledges the advanced stroke care we provide for this region,” said Tena Knight, associate chief nursing officer at Southeast Health. “Our skilled multidisciplinary stroke team of physicians, nurses, technologists and pharmacists are committed to providing our patients with quality stroke care in a safe environment.”

Get With The Guidelines® is the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s hospital-based quality improvement program that provides hospitals with the latest research-based guidelines. Developed with the goal of saving lives and hastening recovery, Get With The Guidelines has touched the lives of more than 12 million patients since 2001.
