Southeast Health is ISO 9001 Quality Management System certified by DNV

Southeast Health has been awarded full certification to the ISO 9001 Quality Management System for meeting standards that result in continued safe and quality care to our patients.

The certification was awarded to the Medical Center and the Medical Group by DNV, which serves as Southeast Health’s accrediting agency for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The Medical Group is the largest network of primary care and specialty clinics in the region.

ISO 9001 is a standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) to address effective quality assurance. It standardizes proven work processes to create an environment of predictability within the entire organization. Quality is more than a talking point at Southeast Health, it is a standard pursued aggressively on a daily basis with discipline and transparency.

“We are dedicated to providing the safest and most effective healthcare environment possible,” said Rick Sutton, chief executive officer of Southeast Health. “ISO 9001 allows us to continue to work our plan to reduce or eliminate variation in our processes. This allows for more consistency in all aspects of the Medical Center and the clinics from patient care to support services.”

“Southeast Health has worked hard to achieve this certification, and they have done so with unwavering commitment from their top leadership to make their hospital the best it can be,” says Kelly Proctor, president of DNV Healthcare USA Inc. “ISO 9001 certification isn’t just an award or trophy for something you’ve done, it’s public evidence that you are at the top of your game with an obvious plan in place to make excellence an everyday objective.”

The ISO 9001 certification is another example of how Southeast is Southbest when it comes to meeting quality standards of care. For more information about the Southeast Health and all of our initiatives, visit www.southeasthealth.org.
