Robert Michael O’Brien, MD, has been providing healthcare for families in the Wiregrass for almost 30 years. Board certified in family medicine, Dr. O’Brien joined First Med, recently rebranded to Southeast Health Westgate Clinic, in 1990.

Dr. O’Brien came to Dothan after serving in the United States Air Force at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery. While at Maxwell, he was the chief of primary care and emergency medicine at Air University Regional Hospital.

Dr. O’Brien received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1978. He earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, Mississippi, in 1982. He completed his internship and residency at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery.
