Howard named director of Urology/Nephrology Nursing Unit
Southeast Alabama Medical Center (SAMC) is pleased to announce Kysha Howard, MSN, RN-BC, CNS has been named director of the Urology/Nephrology Nursing Unit.
Kysha has almost 15 years of nursing experience at SAMC. She began her career at SAMC in 2002 as a registered nurse and charge nurse. In 2011, she was promoted to clinical nurse manager. As she continued to grow professionally at SAMC, Kysha took on the duties of clinical nurse specialist/clinical educator on the cardiovascular unit in 2014.
In addition to her duties at SAMC, she is currently an adjunct clinical instructor at Troy University in Troy.
Kysha received her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Wallace Community College in Dothan in 2002. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville, Alabama in 2010. She completed her Master’s Degree in Nursing at the University of South Alabama in Mobile in 2015.
Kysha is licensed as a Clinical Nurse Specialist by the Alabama Board of Nursing. She is certified in the following: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult-Gerontological Health, American Nurse Credentialy Center, Board Certification in Cardiovascular Nursing, American Nurse Credentialing Center, Advance Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support.
Kysha enjoys spending time with her husband, Otis and her son and stepdaughter. When she is not working, she likes to read.
