Southeast Alabama Medical Center (SAMC) is pleased to welcome Andrew Sawyer, MD, emergency medicine, to its Emergency Department.

Dr. Sawyer, an Enterprise native, comes to Dothan from Birmingham where he served as an Emergency Medicine Resident at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). During his residency training, he has served as an emergency medicine physician at Regional Medical Center in Anniston. He is currently a contract physician at Talladega Superspeedway and Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds.

Dr. Sawyer completed his Bachelor of Science Degree, magna cum Laude, in Biological Sciences at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa in 2010. He earned his medical degree from UAB in 2014.

When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. Sawyer enjoys triathlons, backpacking and hunting.
