Southeast Alabama Medical Center (SAMC) is pleased to welcome Jesse Basford, MD, emergency and family medicine, to its Emergency Department and the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine faculty.

Dr. Basford, a native of Jackson County, Florida, comes to Dothan from Shreveport, Louisiana, where he served as chief resident in emergency and family medicine at Louisiana State University Health and Science Center.

Dr. Basford completed his Associate degree from Chipola Junior College in Marianna, Florida in 2002. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree, cum Laude, in Philosophy from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida in 2008. He earned his medical degree from Florida State University in 2012.

Dr. Basford completed his emergency and family medicine internship in 2013 at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana. He finished his four year residency at Louisiana State University in Shreveport in 2017.
