Daffron named vice president Information Systems/Chief Information Officer
Southeast Alabama Medical Center (SAMC) is pleased to announce Eric Daffron has been named vice president of Information Systems/Chief Information Officer (CIO).
Eric began his career at SAMC in 1992 and has held many positions within the organization including: admission representative, data analyst, web developer, systems analyst and application manger. In 2006, Eric was named Division Director of Information Systems.
During Eric’s tenure at SAMC he has overseen many large scale projects including: Change of hospital information system that included electronic medical records and financial packages; supervised technology groundwork for the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine and oversaw the technology incorporation of Medical Center Barbour in Eufaula.
Eric received his Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Management from the University of Alabama 1992 and his Master’s in Business Administration from Troy University in Dothan in 1999.
Eric is a graduate of Leadership Dothan, sponsored by the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce and he has been published in multiple health information magazines. He is also a former U.S. Army Reserve officer.
Eric and his wife Jennifer have two children, Garrett and Emily. They are members of Covenant United Methodist Church in Dothan.
