
Cari Zhang named Associate Chief Nursing Officer
We are pleased to announce that Cari Zhang, MSN, RN-BC, CNS, has been promoted to the position of associate chief nursing officer (ACNO) at Southeast Health.
In this new role, Cari will be an integral member of the nursing leadership team, working under the direction of the chief nursing officer (CNO) to design, implement and sustain system structures and processes that ensure excellence in professional nursing practice and patient quality care.
As the ACNO, Cari will assist the CNO in overseeing day-to-day operations, short and long-range planning, fiscal management, human resources, and effective quality improvement, and quality control processes. She will also provide leadership to assigned directors, managers and nursing staff, as well as assume CNO duties in the absence of the CNO.
Cari’s extensive experience and dedication to nursing make her an excellent fit for this role. Her journey with us began in 1997 as a charge nurse in the Cardiovascular Unit, and she has since held various leadership positions. Cari currently serves as the director of the Critical Care Division providing leadership and direction for three patient care units. Prior to this, Cari served in various roles including a clinical nurse educator, clinical nurse specialist and the director for 7-East, the cardiac and neurovascular unit, as well as the director of Patient Placement.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Consumer Services from Carson-Newman University, an Associate Degree in Nursing from Wallace Community College, and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama.
