Southeast Alabama Medical Center (SAMC) is pleased to welcome Krishnamohan R. Basarakodu, MD, medical oncologist, to Southeast Cancer Care.

Southeast Cancer Care is another example of SAMC’s commitment to provide comprehensive oncology services in this region. Southeast Cancer Care is part of the Southeast Alabama Medical Group (SAMG) family of primary care and specialty clinics. It is located in Suite 200 of the SAMC Doctors Building.

Dr. Basarakodu, board certified in medical oncology and hematology, comes to Southeast Cancer Care from Montgomery. He has worked as a hospitalist before pursuing a fellowship in hematology/medical oncology. He has been practicing hematology/medical oncology for more than 10 years.

Dr. Basarakodu received his medical degree from Osmania Medical School in India. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and a fellowship in hematology-medical oncology at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri.

He and his wife, Sri Laxmi Valasareddi, MD, have two daughters, Ananya and Amulya. When he is not practicing medicine, he enjoys traveling, running and swimming.
