SAMC’s 2-East/Orthopedics team held a celebration to note a significant milestone. On June 20, the staff of the orthopedics floor accomplished 365 days with no Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infections, or CAUTI. CAUTIs can lead to extended hospital stays, increased healthcare costs, and patient morbidity and mortality.
